Blade selection is not only about material; tooth pitch and workpiece thickness are equally important

TPI means teeth per inch. In general, thicker workpieces require coarser tooth pitch, while thinner workpieces require finer tooth pitch. For pipes and hollow profiles, selection should be based on the actual wall thickness at the cutting point and the number of teeth in contact, not only on outside diameter.

Different blade materials are suitable for different cutting conditions. Carbon steel blades are suitable for general and economical cutting. For better durability, fatigue resistance, and metal cutting performance, bi-metal or M42 high-performance bi-metal blades can be selected according to workpiece strength.
Carbon Steel
Carbon Steel Blade

Offers good toughness and economy. Suitable for general cutting and materials that are easier to machine. Depending on specification, it may also be used for plastics, composites, and wood cutting.

Bi-Metal
Bi-Metal Blade

Combines high-speed steel teeth with a tough alloy steel back, offering both cutting performance and fatigue resistance for general metalworking and higher-frequency cutting.

M42
M42 High-Performance Bi-Metal Blade

Uses M42 high-speed steel tooth tips with better heat resistance, wear resistance, and impact resistance, making it suitable for higher-strength or more difficult-to-cut metal materials.

TPI Selection
Tooth Pitch and Selection Method
Both fixed pitch and variable pitch options are available. Fixed pitch is suitable for workpieces with uniform thickness and stable cutting conditions. Variable pitch covers a wider thickness range and is suitable for pipes, profiles, and materials with varying cross sections.

Coarse Pitch

For pipes, profiles, and hollow materials, do not select TPI by outside diameter alone

When cutting pipes or hollow profiles, the real load on the teeth is affected by actual wall thickness, the number of teeth in contact, and cross-section shape. Selecting TPI only by outside diameter may lead to tooth skipping, material catching, tooth breakage, or unstable cutting efficiency.

In actual cutting, harder materials, variable cross sections, bundle cutting, or insufficient machine rigidity may require adjustments to tooth pitch, feed rate, or cutting speed to achieve stable cutting quality and blade life.
